Elementary (K-6) |
Basic Standard of Appearance -
Guidelines for All Students |
Apparel advertising tobacco, alcohol, illegal substances, and/or offensive slogans is not acceptable attire at school sponsored activities. Clothes making statements with sexual innuendoes are not allowed. |

The wearing of clothing, jewelry or a style of grooming that is identified with membership in a gang will not be tolerated in school or at any school sponsored activity. Apparel that interferes with or endangers self or others while participating in school or school sponsored activities is not allowed. |
|
Dress will not be worn that causes or is likely to cause disruption of the educational process. |
|
The final decision as to the safety or unsuitability of the clothing, hair or jewelry will be left up to the principal or designee and/or the student body. |
| Hair |
Hair must be clean, neat and styled traditionally. Only natural colors are allowed. No unusual or radical hairstyles. |
| Jewelry |
Modest jewelry is allowed. An object that has a purpose other than jewelry cannot be worn as jewelry (i.e. animal chains or collars). No more than two necklaces may be warn at one time. Earrings will be limited to two per ear and must not be larger than a quarter. |
| Tattoos and Body Piercing |
Tattoos must be covered at all times. Jewelry may not be worn in a piercing besides the ear. No body art (drawing on skin made by the student with a writing utensil). |
| Makeup and Nail Polish |
Makeup must look natural. Black nail polish and lipstick is not acceptable. |
| Undergarments |
No undergarments may show at any time. Nor should they be worn as outer garments. Undershirts are only acceptable if they are white. |
| Pants |
No denim. No holes or tears. Pants must fit the waistline and not sag in the crotch. The cuff of the pants may not touch the ground, but must touch the top of shoe. Pants may not be so large that the shoelaces cannot be seen. Pants may not be excessively tight (may not show any descriptive lines of the body). Sweatpants, warm-ups, and cargo pants are not allowed. No logos on any pants. |
| Shorts, Skorts |
No denim. No holes or tears. Shorts must fit the waistline and not sag in the crotch. The cuff of the shorts must be at maximum three inches from the top of your kneecap when sitting, and may go to the kneecap when standing. Spandex or tightly fitting shorts are not allowed. No logos on any shorts. |

All pants may only have a maximum of five pockets: two back pockets, two front pockets, and one coin pocket. |
| Skirts and Jumpers |
No denim. No holes or tears. Skirts and jumpers may not be excessively tight (may not show any descriptive lines of the body). Skirts and jumpers must come to the top of the kneecap at minimum and may not touch the ground. Jumpers must have a shirt underneath. No logos on any skirts or jumpers. |

A dress code shirt must be worn underneath sweaters, vests, and sweatshirts. All sweaters, turtlenecks and sweatshirts must have sleeves. |

The only colors allowed are red, white, and navy blue. |
| Hats and Sunglasses |
May only be worn or seen before or after school hours. No hats or sunglasses in class. Hats include visors and bandannas. |
| Shoes |
Required at all times. No slippers. No beach shoes |
| Cross-dressing |
Clothing and jewelry must be gender appropriate. The principal or designee will monitor this. |
| Physical Education |
Tennis shoes required. Girls please wear pants, shorts or skorts. |
Students not adhering to dress code will not be allowed to attend class.
Anyone with a medical or religious reasons for not following the above will need to talk with the dean. |

Dress Code Amendments
May 2006
At the May 17 board meeting, the Board of Directors decided to amend the High School (9-12) dress code. Beginning in the 2006-2007 school year the following changes will be in effect:
- Cargo pants will not be allowed. All pants should have a maximum of 5 pockets. Pants that have 6 pockets or more will be deemed as cargo pants and will be out of dress code. Logos are not allowed.
- Capri pants are allowed for young ladies. Capri pants are considered pants to be longer than knee length and not touch the ankle. Capri pants can be one solid color or have pin striping. Patterns or designs are not allowed. Capri pants must be loose fitting and not conform to the contours of the body. Logos are not allowed.
- Printed skirts are allowed for young ladies. Skirts must come to the top of the kneecap at minimum and may not touch the ground. Skirts must not be excessively tight. Patterns and designs are depicted as stripes, swirls, paisleys, etc. Pictures are not allowed.
- Pin striping will be allowed on pants for young ladies and young men. Pants must fit at the waistline and not sag in the crotch. Pants must not be excessively tight or baggy. Pin striped pants must look dressy. Logos are not allowed.
